Reblogging this, not for personal gain, but because this story deserves your attention. Outlaw is one of the few Fallout: Equestria stories to have reached completion, it has awesome character development, explores a brand new part of the Wasteland, and is filled to the brim with references to Fallout 1 and 2.

Sneak peek at what is probably my most ambitious piece to this day.
It is huge. And it’ll be posted tonight. Or tomorrow morning, I dunno, depends on my brother’s generosity.
So the rumors were true, they just confirmed Shulk’s presence in the next Super Smash Brothers game.
One word : OH-MY-GOD. (okay, that’s three)
Who’s Shulk, you’ll ask me ? Good question, and it’s not surprising that so many people never heard of him, or Xenoblade Chronicles in the first place.
Sit down for a minute, please, because here’s the story behind the boy with a british accent.
Shulk is the main character of an absolutely divine RPG game that came out for the Wii back in 2010 in Japan, 2011 in Europe, and finally in 2012 for North America. The game, called Xenoblade Chronicles (Xenoblade in Japan, and often referred to by its codename : Monado - Beginning of the world), was developped by Monolith Soft, and is one of the Wii’s greatest games, and by a MILE. Everybody who’s played the game can confirm it, and reviewers all around the world praised it for its incredible storyline, deep character interactions, HUGE open world environments, incredible art, but also the depth of its fights, the absolutely wonderful soundtrack, and last but not least : The game was long. Very long, and filled to the brim with content.
Despite all of this, the game sold…poorly. I wouldn’t hesitate to call it a disaster at this point : Including the European and North American releases, the game only sold 860 000 units worldwide. This was due to a very weak marketing campaign, because the game had already sold poorly in Japan, Nintendo and Monolith Soft thought the game wouldn’t have a chance in the rest of the world (It’s a japanese RPG, after all. They’re not very popular…), but agreed to release the game in the Old Continent. American fans , though, didn’t even get the chance to play the game at that time.
Then, Operation Rainfall happened. What’s that ? It was an online petition started by North American fans to release the game in their country. And it worked ! Nintendo of America saw that the fans were ready to do anything to get their own copies of the game, and thus, along with two other japanese RPG’s, Pandora’s Tower and The Last Story, Xenoblade was finally released, although in limited quantities, in America. Operation Rainfall had generated a lot of hype around the game, and in a matter of days, all copies of the game had been sold. Nowadays, it’s not uncommon to stumble upon used copies of the game for more than 150$. The game is suffering from the Final Fantasy 7 syndrome.
My experience as a gamer goes back a long way, and I wouldn’t hesitate to call myself a hardcore gamer, with a vast amount of gaming knowledge. I’ve played hundreds of games since I started, years ago, on the original game boy. To this day, I still consider games like Super Metroid, the Metroid Prime Trilogy, Alan Wake, Fallout 2 or The legend of Zelda : Majora’s Mask as some of the greatest games ever released in this industry. And yet, Xenoblade Chronicles had no problem finding its way into my top 5 favorite games ever. I hope this gives you a better idea of how insanely good Xenoblade is.
So whoever you are, please, find a way to get your hands on the game, and play it. You won’t regret it. There are many ways to experience Xenoblade Chronicles, now. You can either find a used copy of the game on the internet, emulate the game if your computer can handle it, or wait for the upcoming 3DS re-release of the game. Yes, that’s right, they’re bringing the game to the handheld console of this generation, or, to be more precise, to the “new” 3DS consoles that have been announced with the game.
Thank you, if you took the time to read this.
